Philippine Aviation News Cebu Pacific wants unused quotas for UAE, Thailand, Taiwan
THE OPERATOR of Cebu Pacific Air has asked the regulator for additional seat entitlements to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Thailand and Taiwan, according to filings with the Civil Aeronautics Board (CAB).
Cebu Air, told the CAB that it is seeking two additional weekly Flights to the UAE, and asked the board to reallocate entitlements currently unused by flag carrier Philippine Airlines, Inc. (PAL).

In a separate filings, Cebu Air requested the reallocation of 640 seats to Bangkok and 1,237 seats to Taipei, also left unused by PAL. The hearings on these cases are scheduled.
In the first half of the year, Cebu Pacific flew 8.05 million passengers, up 8% year on year.
During the first quarter of the year, Cebu Air’s net profit plunged to P164.16 million from P1.16 billion a year earlier.
Operating revenue during the first three months of the year grew to P11.76 billion from P10.54 billion a year earlier, while operating expenses rose to P11.25 billion from P9.22 billion as a result of its expanded operations.
