A Harrowing Flight Philippine Airlines PR 2907 from Manila to the Bacolod

It was a harrowing Flight for passengers of Philippine Airlines PR 2907 from Manila to the Bacolod Silay Airport late yesterday.

The plane that took off from the Ninoy Aquino International Airport at about 4:30 p.m. yesterday attempted to land at the Bacolod Silay Airport twice but failed and flew back to Manila, Christine Jereza Abaquin, who was on board the plane, said.

The plane was shaking as the attempts to land were made and passengers were praying out loud, she said.

Finally, the plane turned back to Manila and some passengers opted to disembark there, while others chose to wait it out until the plane was ready to return to Bacolod, she said.

She said the plane was full and about one fourth of the passengers disembarked in Manila.

The rest, who chose to wait for the plane to fly back to Bacolod, sat it out in the cabin. Passengers who had food with them shared with their fellow passengers, she said.

The plane finally departed at past 9 p.m. and landed in Bacolod at about 10:16 p.m., Abaquin said.

The Flight was okay but the landing was horrible, she said.

Hugo Corral Jr. was one of the passengers who decided to get off the plane when it returned in Manila, opting to fly to Bacolod today instead.

He said that when the plane descended suddenly as it neared the Bacolod Silay Airport, it was shaking and then it powered up and swiftly flew upwards.

PAL Bacolod manager Rene Aviles said there were originally 140 passengers on board PR 2907 that was supposed to land at about 5:05 p.m. yesterday.

It was unable to land because of foul weather and poor visibility. There was nothing wrong with the Aircraft,
