Alta Vista darkhorse bet in PAL Interclub

ROOKIE squad Alta Vista is hoping to take advantage of its course familiarity when the PHILIPPINE AIRLINES Interclub Ladies golf team championship fires off next week at the challenging Cebu City course.
With a youth laden lineup, Alta Vista is not necessarily tagged as one of the favorites, but playing at home is certainly something Alta Vista can use to help offset its shortage in talent.
The host club and the rest of the field try to prevent Manila Southwoods Masters from ruling the event the country’s unofficial club championship yet again.

Erica Lim, the reigning club champion, will be the spearhead of the Alta Vista crew with support coming from 11 year old Fil Chinese Wei Fang Gao.
Marina Kauffman is the team captain.
25 teams competing
A total of  25 teams are seeing action in the tournament along with one foreign entry the Lady Eagles Australian in the 36 hole, four division event spread over four days.
The new format will have all eight players seeing action with the top six scores counting.

Boeing, Airbus, B/E Aerospace, Diamond HOTEL PHILIPPINES, Eastgate Publishing, Bluewater Maribago and Mareco Broadcasting Network (Crossover) are the event’s main sponsors.
Aside from defending champion Manila Southwoods Masters, the other participating teams from Luzon are Manila Southwoods Legends, Alabang Golf and Country Club A and B, Camp Aguinaldo, Eagle Ridge, Riviera Golf Club, Tagaytay Highlands, Valley Golf, Wack Wack and Manila Golf.
Also representing Visayas are Bacolod Golf and Country Club, Cebu Country Club A and B, Iloilo Golf, Mactan Island Golf Club, Negros Occidental Golf and Country Club and Victorias Golf.
