PAL Cancels Flights To Japan Due To Vongfong



National Flag carrier Philippine Airlines (PAL) has suspended 3 Flights to Japan on Monday October 13 due to powerful Typhoon Vongfong.

In an advisory, PAL told passengers that PR 438 to Nagoya, PR 408 to Kansai, and PR 432 to Narita from Manila were cancelled as Vongfong slammed into Japan Monday morning.

At least one person was reported missing and dozens were injured while more than 300 Flights were grounded in Japan, officials and local media said.

PAL said affected passengers would be accommodated on replacement Flights scheduled Tuesday, October 14.

The Airline said passengers of cancelled of Nagoya bound PR 438 would be accommodated through PR 5438 that is expected to depart Tuesday at 3 am.

Passengers of Narita bound PR 408 would be accommodated via PR 5408 that is scheduled to depart at 3:40 am.


Affected passengers of cancelled PR 432 bound for Narita would be accommodated via PR 428 also scheduled to leave Tuesday.

The affected passengers also have the option to rebook without penalties provided this is carried out within 30 days from original Flight date, PAL said.

For budget Airline Cebu Air Cebu Pacific, Flights to Japan are on schedule.

As of now, Cebu Pacific Flights to and from Japan continue to operate as scheduled. Cebu Pacific is closely monitoring weather conditions and will provide Flight updates as soon as available,Jorenz Tanada, vice president for corporate affairs of Cebu Pacific said.
